One is Ethics and Professional Conduct #4427 and the other is Ethical Excellence Includes Equality for All #121434. Both are 4 hours of TREC credit toward renewing your real estate license which exceeds the NAR training requirement of 2 1/2 hours. NAR ethics training may be completed through local REALTOR® associations or through another methods, such as home study, correspondence, classroom courses, or online courses. In fact, logging in to the NAR portal using your NERDS number you will find a free course offered by the NAR but it will not offer credit to renew your TREC license.

Do not confuse the required REALTOR® Code of Ethics education with the six hour (6) TREC 2025-2026 Core Course required by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission to renew your license. They are not the same.

This three year cycle, Realtors will also be require to take a course on Fair Housing. The Career Institute has an excellent course on fair housing. It is Fair Housing #3546 and also provides 4 hours of continuing education electives to renew your TREC real estate license.

REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within three-year cycles. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.

New licensees that join the National Association of REALTORS® generally meet this requirement during their REALTOR® orientation.

A new three-year cycle began January 1, 2025. The deadline for this cycle is December 31, 2027 The Career Institute offers two courses which meets the requirements of the NAR Ethics and provides four (4) hours of continuing education to renew your license.
